The serial in the Egyptian Banknotes is composed of the prefix and the serial number . The prefix consists of mumerator and denominator . The numerator is usually one or two letters in Arabic or English while the denominator is a number printed in Arabic or English . The only exception of this rule is the replacement note which has only the prefix
Example :- the 1st issue of the 1 pound bill has the serial printed as follows B/1 03541 where B/1 is the prefix and 032541 is the serial number
