Representing an unknown scribe, cut out of painted limestone, it is 51 cm high and was discovered at Saqqara by De Morgan in 1893AD. It shows a young scribe seated with crossed legs, writting on a roll of papyrus on his lap and waiting for the dictation of his master. the state is from the Fifth dynasty around 2940 BC and is displayed now at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
