Pope Shenouda III (born in the name of Nazir Gide Raphael) ( August 3, 1923 - March 17, 2012 ) , Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate and the rest of the Diaspora , and he is Pope No. 117 . He was the first bishop of Christian education before becoming a pope, and he is the fourth bishop or bishop to become pope after Pope John XIX (1928-1942), Macarius III (1942-1944) and Yusap II (1946-1956). He is also a writer besides the great religious position he occupies, and he publishes in the Egyptian government newspaper Al-Ahram regularly.
