Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah ( 16 June 1929 ) Emir of the State of Kuwait . Took office on January 29, 2006 , after the National Assembly session held on January 24, 2006 transferred the powers of Prince Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to the Council of Ministers because of his health conditions and recommended by the Council of Ministers after the transfer of the Emiri authorities to him Members of the National Assembly unanimously at its own meeting held on January 29, 2006 He is the fourth son of the ten sons of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the tenth Emir of Kuwait from his wife Munira Othman Al-Saeed Al-Ayyar
Born in Al-Jahra in 1929 , he was educated at Al-Mubarakiya School . His father, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent him to some countries to study, gain experience and political skills, and learn about a number of European and Asian countries . In 1954 he was appointed a member of the Supreme Executive Committee. In 1955 he was appointed head of the Department of Social Affairs and Labor and the Press and Publications Department. In 1956 he was a member of the Supreme Council's regulatory body, which was then assisting the Governor
After independence, on January 17, 1962, the first Cabinet of Ministers was established in Kuwait. It was chaired by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah after the elections of the Constituent Assembly , where he was appointed Minister of Guidance and Information . On January 28, 1963, after the elections of the First National Assembly, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs until April 20, 1991. He served in this period in addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other ministries were acting from December 29, 1963 until March 13, 1964. And from December 4,1965 to January 28, 1967, was Acting Minister of Finance and Oil. Between February 2, 1971 and February 3, 1975, he served as acting Minister of Information. From March 4, 1981 until February 9, 1982 , , And after that date was appointed Minister of Information in addition to being a minister And from February 16, 1978 until March 18, 1978 he was appointed Acting Minister of Interior. He was appointed on 16 February 1978 as Deputy Prime Minister, in addition to being Foreign Minister. He held this position until April 20, 1991 . On April 20, 1991 , he returned to the ministry for the first time since the independence of Kuwait . On October 18, 1992 , he returned to the Ministry, where he was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He remained in these posts until July 2003 when he was appointed Prime Minister
